$12 million Pac Heights Victorian once owned by Nicolas Cage comes with pretty much everything

The cost of housing in San Francisco is egregious to say the least. We mean, if you're gonna spend $12 million on a home, Nicolas Cage better have owned it first. Oh wait, he did!

That's right, this 7,000-square-foot, five-bedroom Pacific Heights manse has all the right bells and whistles—elaborate stained glass windows, a 2,000-bottle wine cellar, a resort-style spa—and a Hollywood pedigree (Yoko Ono once reportedly hung out here).

Located at the corner of Franklin and Washington streets just steps from Lafayette Park (and from Danielle Steel's famous Spreckels Mansion), the stately four-story Victorian (don't worry, there's an elevator) was built in 1898 but has all the modern creature comforts thanks to extensive renovations done between 2015 and 2018.

The first thing you'll notice here—besides, perhaps, the grand black-painted staircase and the high box-beamed ceilings—are the many eye-popping stained glass windows with wonderfully wild themes: There's a veritable deep sea wonderland of swimming sharks, fish, and algae; a lush, tropical rainforest with a tiger, monkey, and rainbow parrots; bountiful florals; and dragons selected by Cage himself—all tucked inside intricate architectural reliefs.

Spacious rooms throughout lend luxurious livable vibes. The entry level living area has bay seating and an eco-friendly fireplace, while the open kitchen (with two islands and stainless steel Thermador appliances) flows into the dining and great rooms; a lounge area at the back opens fully onto the garden and offers access to a mezzanine office with its own full bath. Just outside, an al fresco kitchen, semi-circular seating area, and fire pit guarantee you'll all be well fed and entertained as you chill in the spa among the bamboo and listen to the trickling of the 25-foot waterfall.

Upstairs, the master bedroom is a tranquil escape with a spa-like bath, and two additional bedrooms and a wood-paneled den promise plenty of space for the whole fam to stretch out. On the next floor up, you'll find a family room flooded with natural light from peaked ceilings and skylights, as well as a second master suite with bay windows.

Lying beneath it all, on the lowest level of the home, is the grand finale: a media room with movie theater style seating; a spa to rival the St. Regis with walk-in steam, a giant jacuzzi, a walk-in shower, three sinks, and two powder rooms (because obviously that's necessary); and a glass-enclosed 2,000-bottle wine cellar and tasting room that seats six. You'll be cheersing yourself around the clock.
