Monday, October 23rd: Free Pizza and Laughs @ The Milk Bar

When: 5:30pm to 1:30am (Come and go as you please)

Why: Laugh off a case of the Mondays with free pizza at Milk Bar's fourth Mondaze installment. Starting at 10pm, catch DJ BLK&WHT spinning in-house EDM to help you dance off that second slice. Admission is free, but an RSVP on Eventbrite is encouraged.


Tuesday, October 24th: Hear Stories About What Makes Your Skin Crawl @ Public Works

When: 7:30pm to TBD

Why: Ready yourself for the hair-raising happenings to come this week at Public Work's Halloween StorySLAM. From haunted houses and dark alleys to menacing Facebook posts and scary things that have been sitting in the fridge for far too long, listen to a bevy of five-minute readings that will surely get your skin crawling. Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are now sold-out online, so get there early to snag the limited first-come, first-served on-site tickets.


Wednesday, October 25h: Buy $1 Novels @ San Francisco Public Library

When: 11am-3pm

Where: 100 Larkin St. (Civic Center), friendssfpl.org

Why: The San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) will have their last Step Sales of the season this Wednesday. Put a bookmark in your calendar to pursue the frugal reads for sale by the outside plaza table settings. Books start at $1 a cover.


Thursday, October 26th: Go Antiquing @ Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture

When: 10:30am-7:00pm (Come and go as you please)

Why: Walk through the vendors at The San Francisco Fall Art and Antiques Show—one of the West Coast's largest, most prestigious antique shows—to find that special holiday gift for the antique aficionado in your life. If you fancy a drink while browsing the show's offerings, be sure to get there at 5pm for the happy hour cocktails. Tickets ($15-$80) can be purchased at eventbrite.com.


Friday, October 27th: Found Footage Festival @ Roxie Theater

When: 7:00pm to 9:30pm

Why: This Friday evening, see the various garage and pawn shop gems curated by hosts Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett from warehouses and dumpsters; whose credits include works on The Colbert Report and The Late Show with David Letterman. Found Footage Festival will showcase the best bloopers, off-ball films, and whatnot from yesteryear including a collection of satanic panic videos from the 80s and on-air bloopers from over ten years of North Dakota local news. Saturday, October 28th: Run a 5K Through Rainbow Clouds @ Alameda Point

When: 8:00am to 10:00am

Where: 1100 W Red Line Ave. (Alameda), thecolorrun.com

Why: Join in all the pastel, cardiovascular fun this Saturday morning at the the Color Run's Bay Area installment. Upon arrival, you'll be given a Color Run-branded white t-shirt to use as a canvass while you run the casually paced 5k. Tickets ($40-$45) can be purchased online at endurancecui.active.com and include entrance to the race, the aforementioned shirt, and a bevy of other goodies.


Sunday, October 29th: Cheers to Beer Yoga @ Gilman Brewing Company

When: Noon to 1:00pm

Where: 912 Gilman St. (Berkeley), gilmanbrew.com

Why: Get the best of both worlds this Sunday at Gilman Brewing's first beer yoga class. After partaking in an hour's worth of introductory yoga positions, you'll mozy on over with your fellow thirty yogis toward the taproom for a beer or two. Tickets ($20) can be bought on eventbrite.com and include admission to the class and drinks afterward.
