Any San Franciscan in the know would tell you Aquarius Records on Valencia Street has the best collection of music in the city. Need Japanese psychedelia? They've got it. African field recordings? Yep! Local indie? Of course!

ODC Kicks Off its Season with Kunst-Stoff & LEVYdance

Two experimental dance companies open the inaugural season at ODC's freshly-renovated digs with a program that takes the traditional and contemporary and shakes it like James Bond’s martini.

If you’ve ever cursed your lizard brain, Our Body Remembers investigates those primal caveman tendencies - genetic intelligence passed down from ancestors that seeps into our modern lives. Like the fully rational, if not entirely relevant, fear of saber tooth tigers. LEVYdance uses ethnic Persian dance to explore visceral responses that may or may not impact our daily lives and choices.

Man's Best Friend or Fiercest Competition?

When my wife comes home, the dog gets a hug, kisses, and baby talk, while I get a peck on the cheek and a no-nonsense attitude. I’m not saying she should toss on an apron and bring me a drink, but can a guy get a little love at the end of a long day?

He Said: First off, drop the dog comparison. Your wife has fewer expectations from Fido.

Food In Parks: It Can Work!

One of the happiest discoveries during my time in New York last week was the harvest market at Madison Square park, which I stumbled onto after convincing myself that a Shake Shack burger wasn't a good breakfast option (I still sort of regret talking myself out of one).
