Art Goes Live on Market Street
Starting today, you may notice some unusual activity occurring on Market Street. Don't mistake it for the usual cast of crazies known for loitering and creating ruckus of all sorts on the sidewalk. These people aren't homeless and begging for money, but rather make up a troupe of characters telling the story of eight prominent African Americans who lived and worked near Market Street during the mid-19th century.
1228 Takes a Golden Bite Out of Fall
Local jewelry line 1228, designed by Nico Lopez, has garnered massive accolades - Bat for Lashes' Natasha Khan and Adam Lambert have all been spotted wearing pieces - for its femme-meets-punky aesthetic since its inception in 2007. And while we wish we could own everything from the latest collection, we're willing to settle with a cult fave, Lopez's 24 karat gold tooth necklace. Daring and decadent? Yes, please.
Blue Angels' Captain Greg McWherter on the Most Difficult Stunts, "Chair-Flying" and 'Top Gun'
Like the Blue Angels? Of course you do. There are few things more bad-ass than flying 700 miles per hour in $21 million fighter jets. Are you watching them this weekend for Fleet Week? Of course you are.
But before you do, read what Blue Angels' Captain Greg McWherter has to say about their most difficult stunts, pre-flying rituals and Top Gun.
How many years have you been flying with the Blue Angels?
I've been flying with the Navy for 20 years and this is my second year as a Blue Angel pilot.

What Do You Think of The Gap's New Logo?
For reasons unbeknownst to us and the rest of the blogosphere, Gap decided to ditch their iconic logo for something a bit more...modern.
And by that, we mean they wrote their name in Helvetica and slapped a blue gradient box on the righthand corner.
Don't get us wrong, we love Gap and a silly logo won't change that, we just want to know why? An effort to revamp their look to improve sales? An attempt to take in American Apparel's fleeting customers?
What do you all think about the redesign?

Ethics Alert: Lying About Birth Control
My best friend, who's 33 and in a stable relationship with a great guy, just told me she sometimes “forgets” to take her birth control pill but isn't telling her boyfriend. She says she'll be fine if she gets pregnant; that she doesn’t need to have the boyfriend involved with raising any child, though she'd hope he would. I'm kind of shocked. Is this common, or is she totally selfish?
He Said: Regardless of how common it is to be casual about birth control, if one partner is trusting the other to be honest, and they aren’t, it’s selfish. While life slips us many surprises as we go along, it’s not fair to give happenstance a helping hand when the outcome will affect someone else.
