Allbirds launches sneakers made from trees, Reformation opens SF store #2 + more style news

Lovers of shiny new things will find much to shop this week—look for new non-wool Allbirds, Reformation's Pac Heights store, bridal bras from ThirdLove, and a cool Birkenstocks pop-up.

Shoes do grow on trees—Allbirds' fresh kicks debut today.

Don't worry, your merino-wool babies aren't going anywhere—they just have some new friends. Allbirds' new Tree collection of sneaks is made of the pulp of eucalyptus trees, yet another innovative material creation from Tim Brown, Joey Zwillinger and the team. Super breathable and lighter than the originals, the new kicks are ideal for warmer weather as they wick moisture away from tootsies for a cooling effect. Naturally, the shoes are ethically sourced and sustainable—using only five percent of the water and one-third of the land of traditional footwear materials. Runner colors include kauri cloud, stone and navy. And surprise!—the new collection also include the Skipper, with a vintage boat-shoe feel. (Think Paul Newman circa 1930s, but modern.) The color lineup here: rose, stone and navy. All Trees have a mesh construction and wool-lined insoles, and cost $95. Timber! // allbirds.com

Reformation just opened its second SF store.

It has been just about a year since Valencia Street welcomed Reformation to San Francisco. Just yesterday, the doors to outpost number two, on Fillmore Street, swung open, welcoming flocks of cool girls seeking sustainable floral frocks, skinny denim and most-wanted accessories. Like its Mission sister, the bright and airy space (the former home of Curve) feels much like a showroom with uncluttered racks and just one or two sizes of each style on display. (The rest live in back.) Yes, it's also tricked out with Reformation's famous touchscreen technology. Basically, you digitally choose your styles and sizes on screen and, presto chango, they'll find their way into one of five dressing rooms, awaiting your arrival. A small and chic seating area nearby makes a comfy hang for dudes or non-shopping buds. // 2360 Fillmore St. (Pacific Heights), thereformation.com

ThirdLove is in a matrimonial state of mind.

Today, SF's favorite purveyor of comfy, designed-to fit-your-girls bras launches its first bridal collection. ThirdLove's new line features nine styles and a color palette of ivory (or sea salt) and periwinkle, the online retailer's ode to something blue. Among the classic pieces—ideal for the Big Day, honeymoon or any day between—are bras, underwear and bodysuits in allover lace or with lace touches. Founder Heidi Zak swears you will never (ever) have to hike up your bra when snuggled into the 24/7 classic lace strapless bra. Prices range from $34 to $198. // thirdlove.com

Birkenstock and Elle pop up together at Nordstrom.

Over the next two weeks, fans of iconic toe-flaunting Birkenstocks and Elle magazine should run saunter over to Nordstrom SF's women's shoe department where a fun pop-up awaits. To kick off the event, there's a shindig tonight (Thursday, 5pm to 7pm) with nibbles, cocktails and special guests including Elle's senior fashion market editor, Sarah Zendejas, Birkenstock's VP of merchandising, Jacqueline Van Dine, and Nordstrom' women's shoes fashion director, Kate Bellman. The stars of the show: the storied German brand's new Big Buckle collection, curated by Elle. The shoe ($150) is a modern update of the popular Arizona sandal including giganto buckles in silver or gold, and fun metallic leathers in intricate patterns. Obvi, Nina gives the sandals a thumbs up. // Westfield San Francisco Centre, 865 Market St. (Union Square), birkenstock.com, nordstrom.com
