An Artsy Walkabout in Potrero Hill

An Artsy Walkabout in Potrero Hill

By

In the tradition of Oakland's Art Murmur, Potrero Hill will be hosting its first annual Potrero Art Walk. The walk coincides with a recent mass exodus of downtown galleries to this new 'hood and kicks off right in time for several opening exhibit receptions.

New kids on the block—Catharine Clark, Brian Gross Fine Art, Jack Fischer, George Lawson, and Jessica Silverman/Yves Behar collab FUSED—join long timers like Steven Wolf Fine Arts and the SF Center for the Book in a veritable gallery row. (Check out Nathalie Pierrepont's blog about the inaugural shows at these newbies here.) The CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts and Creativity Explored round out the artistic offerings in the 'hood.

It will be awhile before Potrero Art Walk takes on the scale of Oakland's now famous Art Murmur, but use this as your chance to get to know a new area…without having to cross the bridge.

Potrero Art Walk; 4 - 7 p.m., Sat. 9/7; Multiple locations, cca.edu
