An Indoor Haven of Creativity for Kids

An Indoor Haven of Creativity for Kids

By

This is our weekly guest-blog post from the moms behind Red Tricycle, a site that focuses on the "lighter side" of parenting. Every week, they'll be bringing us their picks of stuff to do around the Bay Area with kids.

When a museum encourages young minds to get inventive, to experiment, and to collaborate around new ideas, its name should probably reflect that. Now that Zeum’s been re-branded as the Children’s Creativity Museum, there’s no more mistaking what goes on within its fun-filled walls. But there’s more to this Yerba Buena Gardens destination than a new name.

Downstairs, the all-new Imagination Lab invites kids five and under for hours of puppet play, critter crafting, fort building, and even running their own S.F. food truck serving homemade, soy-based clay creations. Throughout the museum, adorable creativity critters, including Zump and the Birdies, brighten the walls, which feature new signage to help parents and their little ones get the most of the exhibits.
