Mad Men Ball Supports Pathways for Kids
On November 9, Pathways for Kids supporters gathered to celebrate the 14th Annual “Mad Men Ball” Gala at the iconic Mark Hopkins Hotel. The event raised $100,000 in support of Pathways for Kids programs and career exploration initiatives. Over 250 members of the Bay Area philanthropic and corporate community were in attendance to celebrate and acknowledge the work and dedication of Pathways for Kids.
Guests dressed in Mad Men inspired fashions, enjoyed gin martinis and cocktails as they perused hundreds of silent auction items. The Grand Peacock Court featured the Charles Unger band playing the top songs from the 1960’s to set the tone of the night.
Founder Peter Dwares proposed a call to action to San Francisco businesses to become more involved and invested in the future of our youth. Program Director Cassie Miller spoke about the 13,000 students that Pathways has brought to Bay Area businesses and the difference it has made in their lives. To top off the night, Pathways for Kids was presented with a letter from United States Senator Dianne Feinstein thanking the organization for all of their hard work to cultivate and enrich the lives of Bay Area students.
Pathways’ vision is to prepare inner city kids for both higher education and a variety of career options by involving them in career exploration activities—in class, after class, in the workplace and one-on-one—tapping their imagination and motivation and inspiring them to explore their own paths.
