Pretty in Pink's Andie is All Grown Up: Molly Ringwald Makes Her Literary Debut

While we may remember her as a lovestruck 16-year-old, Molly Ringwald shows us she's all grown up with her fiction debut When It Happens to You: A Novel in Stories. Taking inspiration from her role as a wife and mother of three, the book presents the stories of a Los Angeles family struggling to navigate their changing relationships after an act of infidelity.
For a chance to experience the novel firsthand, head to Verdi Club for "Molly Ringwald in Conversation," presented as a precursor to Litquake's annual October fest. Catch Molly in the flesh for a live reading with Litquake cofounder Jane Ganahl. For $50, you can join the conversation—which includes a Q&A session—as well as an intimate VIP reception with the author (plus, you'll get a comped copy of the book). For those of us a little less smitten, general admission tickets can be nabbed online ($12) or at the door ($15).
6:45 p.m. pre-reception and 8 p.m. conversation; Thurs., 9/6, Verdi Club, 2424 Mariposa St.
