A Preview of Friday's ARTCRANK Bike Art

By

On Friday night, SOMArts’ lofty space will be buzzing with Bay Area bicyclists and art lovers. The annual ARTCRANK bike poster show rolls back in San Francisco for the sixth year in a row, and this year's event features work from 34 local Bay Area artists.

This year, ARTCRANK organizers gave 7x7 a preview of some of the posters that will be up for grabs on Friday. Check out the five local designs here, so you can get your hands on your favorite ones before they sell out.

ARTCRANK started in Minneapolis and has quickly grown to other bike-friendly cities. Because of San Francisco’s booming bike scene, organizers expect the SF show to be one of the best on the circuit.

For the past four years, the Bay Area creative community has consistently come up with stand-out work for ARTCRANK," says show founder Charles Youel. " And based on the previews we've seen from this year's artists, the bar is definitely set higher than ever."

ARTCRANK’s model is simple: Throw a party featuring affordable posters designed by talented local artists, and bring the bike community together for a night of bikes and art. Posters are $40 each.

So pedal on over to SOMArts and pick up some bike art for the two-wheeled fan on your holiday list—or just grab a few posters for your self.
