Beyonce + Jay Z: On the Run
First and foremost, Queen Bey is coming to San Francisco! Music's number one power couple chose our fair city as the final stop on their first collaborative summer tour "On the Run." The tour kicks off June 25 in Miami before going on to other big cities such as Philadelphia, Dallas, Toronto and Chicago, and wrapping up in SF on Augsut 5. Exclusive tickets for the On The Run Tour go on sale Tuesday morning to members of Queen Bey's "Beyhive," with a general sale to the public expected Friday. Start freaking out.

The Farmer & The Chef
The latest documentary from Bay Area local Michael Whalen, The Farmer & The Chef explores the incredible partnership between Chef David Kinch of Manresa Restaurant (Los Gatos) and Farmer Cynthia Sandberg of Love Apple Farms (Santa Cruz) as they strive to grow, cook and serve the perfect meal. It's a film about two geniuses at their artistic best and how their passion for food has taken them to worldwide success.
Eating Cultures at SOMArts
Featuring over thirty emerging and established Asian Pacific American artists from around the country, Eating Cultures is a deliciously provocative multi-disciplinary arts exhibition of artworks inspired by Asian American food. In addition to over fifty art, film, and literary works, Eating Cultures will feature Asian American oral histories, a pop-up shop, and a recipe wall for audiences to share their favorite family recipes.
Gather Grand Opening
The long awaited grand opening of gather in Hayes Valley is this week. San Francisco shoppers are in for a thoughtfully curated selection of unique local and handcrafted clothing, home goods, and gifts. In addition to an engaging shopping experience, gather will host monthly events such as workshops, trunk shows, and seasonal gatherings.

Splash Ball: A Wild Night for Nightlife
Created to raise funds for wildlife conservation, the Fifth Annual Splash Ball is one of the wildest parties around. It's an evening of drinks, dancing, and a silent auction featuring phenomenal items such as Nick Brandt wildlife photos, all in support of your favorite jungle animals. They've got a great lineup, including DJ Wallace, Bluegrass band The Neckbeard Boys, food from Bi-Rite Market, Melons Catering, and Heyday, plus drinks from Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Lagunitas Brewing Co, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, and specialty cocktails. Have a whale of a time.
The Kentucky Derby at Comstock Saloon
This Saturday is the perfect time to don your biggest hat for a day at the races. The North Beach bar will host a viewing party for the 140th Kentucky Derby with opportunities to bet on the race, compete for prizes and enjoy a Derby-inspired, three-course, prix fixe menu ($20), which includes a Hot Brown, an open-faced turkey and bacon sandwich made famous in Louisville in the 1920s, along with Comstock's famous bourbon pudding. Meanwhile, the bar will be slinging made-to-order Bulleit Bourbon Mint Juleps, Dickel Rye Derby Cocktails and a Dickel White "Deep" Southside cocktail ($6 each). Plus, the whole event benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation. For every $10 donated at the door, guests will receive one betting card on which to wager first, second and third place winning horses. There will also be a "Best Hat" competition for the ladies and a "Dandiest Fellow" for best-dressed gentleman. Prizes include spa gift certificates, Bulleit Bourbon gift baskets, winery tours and tastings, as well as a VIP experience at Golden Gate Fields.
