With their self-titled album due out next month, this is your best chance at a sneak preview of what MGMT has up their sleeves. And you've got two chances—they're playing back-to-back shows at the Warfield in SF and Mondavi Center in Davis.

Pool Party
Bardessono Dive Bar with Rand+Statler
It's Thursday before Labor Day weekend, so skip out of the office early and head up to Bardessono for the last of their poolside cocktail soirees. Hang at the glorious rooftop pool while sipping happy hour drink specials. And check out some looks available at SF's Rand+Statler.

"Above and Below: Stories from Our Changing Bay"
See how both nature and people have shaped the bay over the past 6,000 years. It will get you thinking about the bay's future. While you're there, check out Around the Bay, an art book that was produced in partnership with this exhibit.

Workshop
Swell Break: Deep Craft on the Edge   
Master woodworker and board-sport designer Scott Constable leads a weekend-long workshop along the shores of the Marin Headlands' Rodeo Beach. Learn to design, shape, style, and finish your own skimboard. Spend your evenings enjoying food and drink at the Headlands' Mess Hall and around a campfire. There might even be s'mores.

Theater
After the Revolution
A prequel to last year's 4,000 Miles by Amy Herzog (which landed the playwright an Obie), After the Revolution touches down at Berkeley's Aurora Theater. It's a story about right and wrong and poses the question of whether the end ever really justified the means. Previews go from 8/30–9/4. Official opening night of the production is 9/5.

Beer Shindig
Speakeasy Block Party
Toast to 16 years of Speakeasy at this celebration block party with craft beer, food trucks, live music, and more. Your ticket gets you unlimited half-pint tasters of beer, including some rare specialities released just for the party. Proceeds from the party benefit SFMade. Speakeasy's only selling 1,500 tickets to the event, so get yours stat before they sell out!
