Bay Area Artists, Listen Up!

By

If you're an aspiring artist and looking for some mula, here's your chance. Southern Exposure, an independent hub for the visual arts in SF, is holding the fourth round of its Alternative Exposure grant program in which $60,000 will be awarded to artists in San Francisco and Alameda Counties. The program started back in 2007 in partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and has been played a vital role in keeping young artists thriving in the community. Over the course of its first three rounds, Alternative Exposure has awarded $155,000 in direct funds to 50 Bay Area projects.

So, if you fall in the starving artist category, get on this now. Projects can include an exhibition or exhibition series, a public art project, a one-time event or performance, the ongoing work of a collective, the publication of writing directly related to the visual arts, an online project or publication, an artist residency, a series of screenings, and more. Check on the site for more details and apply now.

Application Deadline: September 15, 2010; winners announced October 26, 2010
