Playing to a mashup crowd of hipsters, socialites, drag queens and red-white-and-blue clad revelers, Mos Def headlined Artists Ball Seven: The New Party at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on Friday. Check out his performance of "Fake Bonanza" below.

The ball, a fundraiser for new artwork in the city, made light of the current political climate with red-white-and-blue decor, cut outs of politicians, fake protesters and Sarah Palin drag queens.  Although they didn't dress up as polar bears, Hercules & Love Affair got the party started, pumping up the crowd with their acclaimed nuevo disco. Stunning transsexual singer Nomi Ruiz was a crowd favorite, gyrating up and down the stage in a short,  sequined number and belting out hits "Blind" and "Raise Me Up."

Local band Rogue Wave, who was set to open, canceled due to a serious injury that rendered lead singer Zach Schwartz unable to play the guitar.
