Starn Brothers Special: Buy Art Online
We at 7x7 happen to be big fans of the art website 20x200. For those not familiar with it, 20x200 is focused on making the art of collecting accessible to everyone. They introduce two new pieces a week: one photo and one work on paper, each of which is available in three sizes, with the smallest reprinted in an edition of 200 and sold at the lowest price—$20.
Hot Dog and I, by Fernanda Cohen
The woman behind the genius idea is NYC gallery owner Jen Bekman, and lately her selections have been of particular note. Last week she featured our Natalie column illustrator Fernanda Cohen, and this week she unveiled her own little art world coup: a two-part photo edition created exclusively for the site by art stars the Starn Twins as a benefit for Blind Spot magazine. Today the first part of the project, titled Structure of Thought 6-b, promptly sold out, but the second edition from Mike and Doug Starn, Structure of Thought 6-a (which is designed with the option of being layered with the first installment and will be printed on a vellum paper) has yet to go on sale—apparently they’re still putting the finishing touches on it. Keep an eye out for the announcement (the art sales go live at 11am SF time on Tuesdays and Wednesdays), and get ready to keep your collecting finger on your mouse.
