Where to Party on Inauguration

At long last, the day we've all been waiting for—out with the old and in with the new. We're guessing every home, bar and office across the country will be tuned in to see Barack address the nation for the first time as President of the United States, but if you're looking to get out for this momentous occasion, here's where to party.

1. Inauguration Simulcast at City Hall
Where: Civic Center Plaza
When: 7 a.m. - noon
Why: Take a sick day to watch the simulcast in real time. The event is free, with one catch. You must bring a *new* pair of socks or underwear to donate to the homeless.

2. Inauguration West
Where: City View Terrace at the Metreon
When: 6 - 10 p.m.
Why: Hobnob with celebrites while supporting local charities at this swanky soiree as the inauguration speech is re-broadcasted on the big screen.

3. $700 Billion Bailout Martini
Where: Cigar Bar or Kells
When: All Night
Why: SVEDKA Vodka created this election-themed drink just in time for the inauguration, but we have a hunch that you'll be able to cut a deal on the price.

4. Rock Barack
Where: Paradise Lounge
When: 6 - 9 p.m.
Why: Toast this momentous ocassion with a recession special—99 cent drafts and well drinks after you give a $10 donation. Proceeds will benefit the Glide Foundation.

5. End of an Error with Will Durst
Where: Yoshi's San Francisco
When: 5 p.m.
Why: Will Durst, the quintessential political satirist, is armed and ready to bash Bush in a last hurrah.

6. End Bush
Where: Bush St. and Presidio
When: 9 a.m.
Why: Put Bush to bed once and for all. Meet at the street sign that marks the "End" and celebrate the beginning of a new era.

7. Barack and Bloody Marys
Where: Parkway Theater, Oakland
When: 7 a.m.
Why: Share an inauguration day brunch with friends while watching the big speech. What could be better than Bloody Marys on a Tuesday morning?
