US Ski and Snowboard House Party

Susan Swig Watkins hosted a party at her home for the U.S. Ski and Snowboarding teams, welcoming in particular USSA President and CEO Bill Marolt and US Olympian Daron Ralves. Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind gave a special acoustic performance while invitees enjoyed tasty bites and beverages.

This Old Bag at the W Hotel

This Old Bag: The Power of the Purse, which was held at the W San Francisco, raised more than $135,000 for the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund. Sharon Stone’s donated Versace bag brought in the most money; it was auctioned off for a tidy sum of $8,000.

EcoMom Alliance with Robin Wright Penn

Actress and Marin resident Robin Wright Penn hosted an event honoring nonprofit EcoMom Alliance, an organization that "inspires and empowers mothers to help create an environmentally, socially and economically prosperous and healthy future for all." Held in the green living showroom of Green Fusion Design Center, this was a pre-party for another event to be held in SF on Nov. 29 at Flora Grubb Nursery.

Junior League Home Tour Preview

IRC Dinner and Humanitarian Awards

International Rescue Committee held its fifth annual Bay Area dinner and presentation of the Sarlo Foundation Distinguished Humanitarian Service awards at the St. Regis Hotel. Featured speakers at the event included author Dave Eggers and Sudanese refugee Valentino Achak Deng, who was the subject of Eggers’ book What Is the What.

SF Performances Gala

SF Performances' 28th season gala, "La Dolce Vita," successfully raised more than $100,000 for its education and outreach programs. Soprano Heidi Grant Murphy along with composer/pianist Jake Heggie and Quartetto Gelato performed at the event, which was held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

Haight Ashbury Free Clinics Gala

Celebrity Pool Toss

The 15th Annual Celebrity Pool Toss, which was held poolside at the Phoenix hotel, raised more than $1 million for the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation's programs for kids and families. Local celebrities who were thrown into the pool included Robert Mailer Anderson, Daniel Lurie, Chris and Amber Marie Bently, and Joey Altman.

San Francisco School Volunteers hosted a "Back to School Lunch" at The Fairmont to honor standout volunteers in the city's public schools.
