<i>Vanity Fair</i>, Nordstrom and Vanessa Getty Celebrate the SF International Film Fest

To celebrate the 51st San Francisco International Film Festival Vanity Fair Magazine, Vanessa Getty and Nordstrom co-hosted a fashionable fête at Bix. The midday event featured lunch and a fashion show with models donning the latest looks from both American and European collections, courtesy of Nordstrom.

“From Tiki to Toe Shoes” at the Tongo Room

On Wednesday, April 16 the Tongo Room at the Fairmont Hotel celebrated its newly renovated space with the spectacular “From Tiki to Toe Shoes” party honoring the 15th anniversary of San Francisco Ballet ENCORE!. Guests were treated to a lavish luau feast and lively Polynesian dancers.

On Saturday, April 12 the Junior League Committee to the Woman’s Board of California Pacific Medical Center Foundation hosted the Glitter Ball 2008, which benefited the Forbes Norris MDA/ALS Research Center.

Nordstrom and Sorokko Gallery Host Dinner for Designer Andrew Gn

On Thursday, April 10 Tatiana Sorokko and Pete Nordstrom hosted a lavish private dinner at the Serge Sorokko Gallery to honor Paris-based fashion designer Andrew Gn’s first SF Visit. Guests included Jacqui Getty, Mayor Gavin Newsome and former Mayor Willie Brown.

The 11th Annual Loaves & Fishes Leadership Fund and Awards Dinner

On Friday, April 11 the Catholic Charities CYO held their 11th Annual Loaves & Fishes Leadership Fund and Awards Dinner at the Westin St. Francis. The dinner honored both individuals and organizations for their outstanding charitable works. Guests included honoree Robert Haas of Levi Strauss & Co., honoree and former 49er Ronnie Lott and California Attorney General Jerry Brown.

A.C.T.'s "Illuminate the Night, A Spotlight on Our Shining Stars"

On Sunday, April 6, 2008, the Four Seasons Hotel played host to A.C.T. students, alumnus and friends, including the current cast members of the hit TV show Heroes, for Illuminate the Night, A Spotlight on Our Shining Stars. The event benefited A.C.T.’s actor training programs by raising more than $725,000 to support the future of American theater.

SF Symphonix Event at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music

To celebrate the second installment of the SF Symphonix Trilogy concert series, guests and Symphonix members were treated to appetizers courtesy of Ana Mandara, decadent chocolates from Schoggi and wines from the Pellegrini Family Vineyard at a pre-show soiree held at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Junior League of San Francisco’s Fashion Show

On Saturday, April 5 the Junior League of San Francisco held their 82nd Annual Fashion Show Gala at the Fairmont Hotel. The fundraising event, which was co-sponsored by Macy’s, featured two different parties, a champagne luncheon and a black-tie dinner gala, both with a silent and live auction and a breathtaking fashion  show.

SFMOMA Art Auction 2008 Launch Party

A launch party for the SFMOMA’s Art Auction 2008 was held at the InterContinental Hotel’s Grand Ballroom on Tuesday, April 1. The soiree featured a cocktail reception and a special preview of some of the artwork.

330 Ritch Re-Launch Party

On Friday, April 4 legendary SF nightclub 330 Ritch held a party to celebrate the club’s newly renovated interior and updated mission statement to help diversify the SF community through music. The event featured a frenzied set by DJ Scene, drinks and dancing in the re-vamped industrial space. In addition to aesthetic changes, 330 Ritch is now the official SF venue of Spin Magazine, who will help co-host must-see shows through the year.
