I'd have to say the burger at Delancey Street Restaurant would have to qualify. For $5.95 it comes with fries or salad and is consistently reliable. Price of add-ons is minimal, and it goes to a good cause.

Joe's Cable Car, without a doubt, around Mission & Silver (4320 Mission St). Though he has slightly more expensive items, his Cable Fresh Ground Beef Steak comes in at under $10, and is worth every penny. As advertised, they grind their own meat, fresh, daily. And Joes's has been featured on the Food Channel. Joe, himself, is there on most days, and has been since 1965 (we assume he goes home at night :). All the side dishes are excellent too (fries, onion rings) and their milkshakes are the real deal. Website: http://www.joescablecarrestaurant.com/ Love this place, and it's too close to my home!

Head to Pickles for the $6 Clown Burger. It comes with fries or a salad and is made with Prather Ranch beef. I think it's a great deal, and a great burger.
