In my book, the concept of “breakfast” consists of a weekend day, an hour with double digits and beverages which contain both tomato juice and vodka.

There are very few people for whom I will break my fast -- fully showered and dressed -- at the ungodly hour of 8 a.m. Except for my mother; Daniel Lurie’s Tipping Point Breakfast and, of course, former Mayor Willie Brown.

So I just got off the phone with Mayor Gavin Newsom! But really, no biggie.

Considering the catbird seat I am often afforded at numerous galas, openings and super soirees, it just goes with the territory that civic leaders and politicians would send an email the previous evening telling me to ring them at 9 a.m. (PST) to check in with the G-Man.

Policy? Party planning? It’s all rather similar territory.

He’s happening, he’s hip (heck, he’s on Facebook) and wethinks (that is, until he officially declares), he wants to be your next Governor of the (once) great state of California.

Giving us a peek behind the curtain, CA State Attorney General Jerry Brown (who served as Governor of California from 1975-1983) recently filled out the 25 Random Things About Me survey that is viral-ing 'round the walls of Facebook fanatics everywhere.
