Cala's Mezcal Dinner Series

Cala is hosting a special mezcal dinner on the last Monday of each month starting February 27. The special five-course dinners are a collaboration with mezcal brand Amaras Mezcal and will feature a special mezcal producer each month. First up is Neta Mezcal, an Oakland-based importer from Oaxaca. Cala's chef David Castro (formerly of Eleven Madison Park in New York City) will be creating a unique meal pairing to highlight the agave-based spirit. Tickets are limited. // Monday February 27, 8:30-11:30pm,149 Fell St (Hayes Valley). Get tickets here.

Salt Point at Ruby Wine

Giovanni Betteo and Claire Koerschen, a couple of 4505 Meats alums, have started Salt Point Butchery & Provisions, a butchery with a focus on high quality, sustainably raised meats. Find them cooking up delicious burgers and bratwursts at the Ferry Building Farmers Market on Saturdays, and popping up at Ruby Wine in Portrero Hill every Wednesday, where they'll be serving small plates. The menu will change with what's seasonally available—tonight there'll be sirloin with flowering broccoli and braised radish; pork jowl with asparagus, egg yolk, and mustard greens; and burrata with blackberry and toast. Yum. // Wednesdays, 6pm-9pm, 1419 18th St (Potrero Hill), saltptcalifornia.com

German Wine Dinner @ Izakaya Kou

Chef Rodney Wages (Saison, Benu, Atelier Crenn) is doing a special collaborative pop-up dinner at Izakaya Kou with Anne Krebiehl, one of only eight German Masters of Wine. She's flying in from London for the event and will be pairing Germany's pinot varietals with a special five-course dinner made by the young talented chef. There'll be two seatings for the event. // February 28, 1560 Fillmore St (Fillmore). Get tickets here.

Shiba Ramen Opens in Downtown Oakland

There's yet another ramen option in the Bay with yesterday's opening of Shiba Ramen's second location, this time in downtown Oakland. The fast-casual restaurant will have 40 seats and a bar with a focus on Japanese beer and sake. Chef Danny Keiser, who lived in Japan for a year, will bring a seasonal spin to the ramen joint with specials like spicy radish ramen. There'll also be a soymilk vegetable-based ramen and a dry ramen, as well as Shiba wings and crispy tofu. // Monday-Saturday, 11am-10pm, 1438 Broadway St (Oakland), shibaramen.com

Kronnerburger Pops up at Del Popolo

Christopher Kronner is everywhere these days. Just a couple of weeks ago, he popped-up at Tartine Manufactory, and now next Monday he's popping up at Del Popolo. Not only will you be able to get his delicious burgers, but you'll also be able to get Del Popolo's amazingly delicious wood-fired Neopolitan style pizzas in the same meal. The best part? There'll be a Magical Pizza Burger on the menu to commemorate the collaboration. // Monday, February 27th, 5:30pm-10pm, 855 Bush St (Nob Hill). Reserve here.
