Cavallo Point: A Quick and (Now) Affordable Getaway

By

Even if you live in San Francisco, Cavallo Point Lodge is the perfect getaway.  It's quick (just across the Golden Gate Bridge) and, thanks to their new date-night package, pretty affordable.

The Lodge, which opened last summer to critical acclaim,  occupies the century-old Fort Baker Army quarters (updated of course). Half the rooms are the old officers’ quarters in the historic lodging (with lower prices that its more opulent sister rooms), while the contemporary buildings are a bit more modern. You'll be content no matter which route you take--the San Francisco skyline views are incomparable.  Wander out to the water's edge and you're smack under the Golden Gate Bridge.

And then there's their signature restaurant, Murrary Circle (awarded a Michelin star).

The Lodge's "Ultimate Date Night" package begins with a four-course tasting menu for two at Murray Circle. After your belly is full of gourmet cuisine, unwind in front of the fireplace in your Historic Bayside King Deluxe room. Also included in the deal are valet parking, breakfast for two, yoga, and access to the Healing Arts Center & Spa. The package runs for $395 if booking the deluxe room, or $495 if upgrading to a contemporary junior suite (that's the price of just a base room at many of downtown San Francisco's lodgings!)
