2009 Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle
Honorary Chairperson Maria Shriver joined together with several celebrities and professional cyclists on September 12 for the Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle, a 100-mile cycling fundraiser from Carmel to San Simeon that raised close to $4 million in total donations for Best Buddies International. The weekend’s festivities included a First Lady’s Celebrity/Sous Chef Challenge featuring top California Chefs such as Scott Giambastiani, Jeff Rogers, Ryan Scott and Cal Stamenov as well as a barbeque and private concert by Ciara at the Hearst Ranch for all participants and guests.
Best Buddies International works to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-on-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
