Editors' Picks: Joan Didion for Gap, No Doubt, & More

What 7x7 editors spent way too much time thinking about this week.

Joan Didion for Gap

By now we all (should) know that Joan Didion is the new face of Céline. And, yes, we also know she had no idea everyone was abuzz over it. (She's famous for her insouciance, that Joan.) But did you know that the noted American scribe was also once the face of Gap? Back in 1989, she appeared in the SF-based retailer's "Individuals of Style" ad campaign. The image, shot by Annie Leibovitz, features the writer and her late daughter, Quintana Roo, sporting black turtlenecks. Oh, wow, indeed. — Brock Keeling (@BrockKeeling)

No Doubt @ BottleRock 2015

Because like every girl, I have wanted to be Gwen Stefani since my 16-year-old self first laid eyes on the retrofabulous blonde bombshell-slash-punk princess with the album release of Tragic Kingdom back in 1995. When Gwen and her posse hit the Napa Valley music fest BottleRock May 29-31, I'm so there. — Chloe Harris (@ChloeH415)

Willard Dog Park, Berkeley

During my time at UC Berkeley, I lived across the street from this gorgeous little park and loved to sit on a blanket in the sun with a book and a cup of tea and watch the dogs run by chasing balls, their owners, and even squirrels. This Christmas, my boyfriend surprised me by conceding to a puppy, and we pick up our new family member (half Shiba Inu / half Husky) from the SPCA today! Needless to say, I can’t wait to take her to my old stomping grounds. — Sarah Medina (@funkycolsmedina)
