A More Convenient Commute With PayPal + Muni's New App

By

There is a myriad of options available to San Francisco commuters— everything from Lyft and Uber to riding a bike and your own two feet, and of course, Muni.

With more than one million San Francisco residents finding their way to work every day, plus more than a million out-of-town commuters packing their way into the city, purchasing a paper pass can slow down the line and be a hassle, let alone remembering to carry quarters if you forgot your Clipper card in your other pants.

Launched this week in the Apple App Store and Google Play, a new Muni app just made catching the bus a whole lot easier. Enabled by PayPal and Braintree, you can now securely buy your ticket and pay your fare all within the mobile app (and PayPal is a payment option, of course). Forgot your pass at home? It's easy to whip out your phone and buy a ticket using your PayPal account. Don't have the cash necessary to get downtown? The new Muni app is here to save the day with all the ease and efficiency you expect from 21st century technology.

You already use PayPal to pay for Lyft, Uber, and Chariot, might as well use it to pay for Muni too. What could be easier than using one payment platform to take care of all your commuter needs?
