Free National Park Day

What:  To celebrate National Public Lands Day this weekend, parks around the country will be taking part in a "free-fee" day, where visitors can explore and enjoy the beautiful landscape for no charge. Yosemite park will be waiving its $20 car fee, and Muir Woods will be offering free entrance and parking for visitors all day. 

When: Saturday, September 26th. 

Where: Head to any National Park near you and enjoy the outdoors!

CELEBRATE 

Oktoberfest by the Bay

What: In honor of Munich's iconic festival, San Francisco is bringing three days of booze, food, and live entertainment to Bay Area dwellers! Drink and be merry while enjoying authentic German beer and performances by the Chico Bavarian Band and the Internationals. Make sure to stay for a while, traditional Bavarian dancing will take place every couple of hours. That's something you definitely don't want to miss.

Why: Why should Germans have all the fun?

When: Festivities kick off Friday, September 25th - Sunday, September 27th. Tickets are $25 per day. 

Where: Head to Pier 48 and prepare for some rowdy fun! 

RUN

The Great Cable Car Chase

What: Every last Tuesday of the month, exercise junkies will join A Runner's Mind to participate in The Great Cable Car Chase. This fun-fueled exercise routine literally takes on popular cable-car lines such as the Powell-Hyde route, or even the California line. Whew! Each race begins with a 2.5 up-hill warm up and finishes with at least a block or more cable car chase. Those who manage to beat the cable car will receive a prize courtesy of ARM. After, everyone can celebrate their victory by meeting up at A Runner's Mind store for refreshments, live music, and more. 

When: Tuesday, September 29th @ 7pm. 

Where: Lace up those running shoes, drink some water, and meet up at A Runner's Mind (3575 Sacramento St)

The Folsom Street Fair

What: Known as "the world's biggest leather event," The Folsom Street Fair has been an annual San Francisco tradition since it began in 2005. Taking over 13 SoMa city blocks, over 200 exhibitors will be showcasing the best in leather, fetish gear, and more. This all day event will also feature live music, MC's, dancing, and more than likely some nudity. Admission is free, but donating $10 or more guarantees $2 off drinks all day. 

When: The fun starts Sunday, September 27th; 11am - 6pm. 

Where: Head to SoMa and meet up at 131 10th Street; you can explore from there.

Art + Décor Auction at Bonhams

What: In the mood to spend a little money? The Art + Decor Auction will feature vintage furnishings and curated artworks from prominent estates from the Bay Area. Treasures up for auction include an authentic Ansel Adams photograph, a Christian Liaigre dining table, along with affordable and chic home furnishing items such as rugs, books, jewelry, and more. Check out their full list of featured items on their online catalog and make sure to come in paddles blazing! 

When: The auction takes place on Monday, September 28th.
