PLAY WITH PUPPIES 

Hair of the Dog

What: Trick Dog is hosting a Hair of the Dog puppy party and adoption event this weekend, supporting Northern California Family Dog Rescue and Muttville Senior Dog Rescue. Adoptable dogs from both organizations will be onsite, and guests are invited to bring their own dogs along for photos, treats and scratches! For the humans in the room, drink specials featuring Rutte Gin will be available.

When: Sunday, September 20 from 12-3pm

Eat Real Fest

What: Get ready for a weekend of the best food and drink the Bay Area has to offer. With free admission, vendors galore, and special events such as demos from professional chefs, cocktail workshops, and a Kids Zone, this is the place to be if you're a foodie family.

STROLL LAKE MERRITT 

Love Our Lake Day 

What: With more than 60 interactive health, fitness, and arts activities ─ in addition to live music and dance performances ─ taking place along Lake Merritt this weekend—and a forecast that predicts 90-degree weather—it's the perfect day for a stroll around the lake. 

When: Sunday, September 20 from 11am – 4:00pm

BEER PARTY 

2015 "Tour De Fat" Bike & Beer Festival 

What: It's that time of year again: New Belgium Brewing Company's annual "Tour De Fat" Festival. Prepare yourself for a day of booze, bikes, sustainability, and silliness. This iconic event brings music, fashion, and other jaw dropping performances to Bay Area dwellers. Best of all, it's free. 

When: Saturday, September 19th, 10am

Where:  Lindley Meadow in Golden Gate Park (1000 John F Kennedy Dr).

WATCH A MOVIE 

The Making of A Mensch: Film Premiere 

What: Emmy-nominated filmmaker and Webby Awards founder Tiffany Shlain’s films include Connected: An Autobiography about Love, Death & Technology and The Tribe: An unorthodox, unauthorized history of the Jewish people & the Barbie doll….in about 18 minutes. Her latest work, The Making of a Mensch, employs the great Jewish teachings of Mussar, which explore character development as far back as the 10th century. Head to the premiere and post-show conversation with Michael Krasny.
