This weekend, get ready for the return of the Giants, a total lunar eclipse, Hunky Jesus, and so much more.


The Boys are Back in Town

Our San Francisco Giatns will be back home this week to start the season with some opening exhibition games against the Oakland Athletics. While they are not "official" regular season games, the upside is that tickets won't cost you food for a month (unlike opening day tickets). Go see your favorite players take on our rivals from across the Bay. Thursday, April 2: 7:15pm, at AT&T Park. Friday, April 3: 7:15pm, at AT&T Park. Saturday, April 4: 1:05pm, at Oakland Coliseum. 

2015 Easter in the Park: Hunky Jesus & Foxy Mary Contests

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are back to present an annual tradition—with some new twists. The celebration kicks off at with Children's Easter, and followed by the Easter Bonnet/Hunky Jesus/Foxy Mary contests. Stick around for performances from Red Hots Burlesque, Empress Khmera Rouge, Kippy Marks, and others. County fair-themed costumes are encouraged, and the contests are open to all. Free. Sunday ,April 5: 10am - 4pm. Hellman Hollow (formerly Speedway Meadow) in Golden Gate Park.

Total Lunar Eclipse

Get Saturday started early, or let Friday go all night! Join the SF Amateur Astronomers to view one of the most unique lunar eclipses. It's the third in a series of four total lunar eclipses that will be happening from 2014-2015, and this time the moon will be fully eclipsed for five minutes. Free. Saturday April 4: 4-6am. Ocean Beach opposite the Beach Chalet.

Three-Eyed Raven

Get ready—the season premiere of Game of Thones is coming, and Brewery Ommegang and HBO have banded together to launch the very sippable Three-Eyed Raven ale. The ale is a dark saison inspired by GOT's mysterious old man fused to the roots of a weirwood tree beyond the wall. Come to the Folsom Street Foundry to drink this exclusive beer before it's officially released, not to mention gush about the series and compete in a costume contest (maybe even for the Iron Throne). $20Friday April 3 : 7-11:30pm. Pop Up Masquerade SF 2015

Calling all masked maruaders, amusement aficionados, and festivity fanatics—this is the event for you. Hundreds of guests will gather at a yet-to-be-disclosed location dressed in their most elegant black, white, silver, and gold duds for a night like no other. Deserts and libations provided. $65. Saturday April 4: 9pm - 1am. Location given at 3pm, Saturday after ticket purchase.
