Discover Magic + Art Under the Redwoods at the 60th Annual Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival

Celebrating 60 years of art under the redwoods, the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival takes place September 17th and 18th in Old Mill Park, just a block from downtown Mill Valley.

Guests will enjoy two full days of live music in the beautiful amphitheater—highlights include rockers Miles Schon and Faust & Fox, and folk singers Aaron Redner and Deep Blue Jam—and can explore one-of-a-kind words from 130 national fine artists, with everything from painting and sculpture to jewelry and wearable art. Want to bring the kids along? Children will love the art activities, music, and puppet and magic shows hosted by the Blue Fairy in the Children's Grove.

The first Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival was held in 1957. It was an ambitious, nine-day community celebration held in Lytton Square and along a small section of Locust Avenue. Sixty years later, MVFAF is now a nonprofit run by local artists. The festival continues to celebrate the arts with exhibitors from all over the country and to support up-and-coming artists through the Emerging Artist Scholarship Fund.

To help celebrate this landmark anniversary, renowned woodblock print artist and Marin resident Tom Killion—who began his artistic career when he debuted his prints at this festival at age 16—created a new work of art for the event's commemorative poster. Killion has served on the festival committee and board on and off for over 40 years.
