Drink Here Now: 5 Places to Sip This Week

1. Top of the Mark's Summer Movie Series: Like most cities, SF offers summer movie screenings in the park, but our warmth-challenged summers make it hard to focus on the film through all the teeth-chattering. Thankfully, Top of the Mark has intervened, screening classic films all summer long for free in the great indoors (with a killer view, to boot). And to sweeten the deal, they're offering wine tastings from the likes of Domaine Chandon and Wild Horse Vineyards, available for a $3 suggested donation that benefits BAYKIDS. Next week's film is Mary Poppins, followed by Arsenic & Old Lace; you can see the full lineup, which runs through September, here. (Tuesdays through September 24: wine tasting 5:30-7:30 pm, film at 7:30 pm, at Top of the Mark, InterContinental Mark Hopkins, One Nob Hill, Nob Hill.)

2. Drink Me Magazine's Pisco Party: The history of San Francisco and the history of pisco have long been intertwined, and with local importers like Campo de Encanto and Oro Pisco bringing Peru's finest to the rest of the nation, it's always a good time to celebrate. That's why Drink Me is bringing together the two local brands, along with Pisco Porton and Kappa Pisco, to throw a bash at (where else?) Pisco Latin Lounge, with Latin food, a DJ, entertainment, and plenty of pisco cocktails. Tickets are $50 for general admission and $75 for VIPs, but Drink Here Now readers can take 20% off with the code drinkpisco. (Thursday, June 7, 7-11 pm, at Pisco Latin Lounge, 1817 Market St., Upper Market.)

3. Absolut Swedish House Party: The vodka vixens at Absolut are rolling through town, and they're ingratiating themselves with the natives by throwing a free bash at Raven. On offer: Absolut cocktails, food from neighboring Triptych, and music by the Space Cowboys and Nu Funk Boutique. RSVP here; space is limited. (Monday, June 18, 9 pm-12 am, at Raven, 1151 Folsom St., SOMA.)

4. Oyster Deals at Grand Cafe: If you're craving oysters (months that end in "r" be damned), Grand Cafe is offering an inexpensive way to get your bivalve fix. For $15, they'll hook you up with a platter of a dozen oysters, along with your choice of a pint of Kronenbourg beer or a glass of house sparklng wine. Best of all, this deal isn't just at happy hour-- it's available any time of day, as long as you're seated at the bar. Oysters and bubbly for lunch, anyone? (Daily, 11:30 am-close, at Grand Cafe, 501 Geary St., Union Square.)

5. Oyster Happy Hour at Local's Corner: Also on the cheap-oyster train is Local's Corner (left), the new seafood-focused offshoot of Local: Mission Eatery. They're looking to bring in the afternoon crowd with 2-for-1 oysters (oyster prices vary, depending on what's fresh that day), as well as $5 glasses of Dashe Cellars rose. Score one of the seats by the window on a sunny Saturday, and you'll be in for some prime afternoon people-watching. (Tuesday-Saturday, 2-6 pm, at Local's Corner, 2500 Bryant St., Mission.)
