Speakeasy celebrates a sweet sixteen years of brewing great craft beer in San Francisco with an epic party. The all-day block party will feature rare beers, infamous local food trucks, live music, DJs, craft vendors, and, of course, tasty Speakeasy beer. If you opt to pony up the additional $20 and go VIP (aka The Godfather’s Club) you also get unlimited beer tasting. Third Annual Bloody Mary Contest at Scala’s Bistro
Scala’s Bistro and the Sir Francis Drake Hotel’s Third Annual Bloody Mary Contest is less than a week away. It is perfect that they are holding it on a Sunday, so feel free to overindulge Saturday night. The contest will feature bartenders from Beretta, Honor Kitchen, 25 Lusk, Rye, BIG, 15 Romolo, Hog & Rocks, Copita, Novela and HopScotch. The theme this year is “anything but vodka,” and bartenders will serve up their tastiest and spiciest bloody mary using tequila, spiced rum, gin, and whiskey. And if a bloody mary contest isn’t enough to get you there, Scala’s Bistro’s new executive chef, Larry Finn, will be featuring bites from his new brunch menu, and Almanac Beer Company will provide beer as well. Napa Valley Wine Lounge at America’s Cup Race Park
Napa Valley is the Official Wine Region of the 34th America’s Cup. Wine and sailing enthusiasts can pair their favorite pastimes at the Napa Valley Wine Lounge at America’s Cup Race Park this September, sampling Napa Valley wines by the glass and light bites as they watch the races from Piers 27/29 in San Francisco. The park is free to enter, and features daily, informative race show programs. With views of the stage and finish line, the Napa Valley Wine Lounge is the perfect place to relax, sip a glass of Napa Valley’s world-class wine, and enjoy a day at the races. The Wine Regatta with VIN12 at The Winery SF
Although most people think of Napa and Sonoma when they think California wine, you can visit wineries right in San Francisco. The number of urban wineries has been growing consistently over the past few years, especially on Treasure Island. Another fact that might even escape many San Francisco locals is that Treasure Island is actually part of San Francisco. One needs to access the Bay Bridge or a boat to get there, but it is part of the city. One of the first wineries to establish itself in San Francisco is The Winery SF. The Winery SF and VIN12 are joining together for a spectacular Wine Regatta on Sunday, September 9th. The Wine Regatta on Treasure Island will include 30 wineries with over 80 wines to taste. Meet vintners from Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Lodi, Santa Cruz and, of course, San Francisco. There will be a unique VIP Winemakers Panel with special tasting (limited number of tickets). Range Restaurant, Kermit Lynch Wine Dinner
Range restaurant, in concert with Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, has special “Summer Series” wine dinners, and the final one is coming up on September 10th. This one features a delightful, four-course prix fixe tasting menu that is tailored to pair with wines from Kermit Lynch's most exciting and iconic producers.
