11th Annual Cheshire Rock Opera

You’ve probably seen Alice In Wonderland at some point in your life, but we doubt you’ve ever seen this version. The Oakland Metro Operahouse presents the 11th year of Oakland artist/musician Sean Lee’s Cheshire Rock Opera. The musical incorporates songs and scenes from Lewis Carroll’s famous Alice in Wonderland. Special musical guests from Oakland’s bohemian underground will showcase a variety show called Queen’s Concert. There’ll also be an Alice Costume and Dance Competition for those who want to participate. Local music vendors will be on hand promoting their latest material. Click here for more info. Farmer’s Market Poetry Benefit Soiree

Farmer’s Market sonneteer, David Griswold, is delivering over 70 original sonnets this Saturday afternoon. Guests can vote on their favorite selections, and poems will be published in a selected edition based on the number of votes. A silent auction will take place, and wine and hors d’ouevres will be served throughout the course of the event. All proceeds will go to the Berkeley Ecology Center. Click here for more info.
