Three Reasons to Cross the Bay Bridge

Don't let the bone-chilling cold and threat of rain keep you home this weekend. Following are three great ways to warm up across the bridge.

Sarah Kirnon's Ridiculously Good Fried Chicken Miss Ollie's–the hotly anticipated latest from everyone's favorite Bay Area Barbadian chef Sarah Kirnon–is finally open in Swan's Depot. Fried chicken lovers rejoice! In a town where people line up for fried chicken sandwiches like it's no big deal, Kirnon's may just be the best.

America's Only High-End Sake The first and so far only high-end sake brewery in the U.S., Portland-based Sake One produces some seriously delicious bottles available at only a handful of fine eateries (including Soi 4 in Oakland). The company is making it its mission to convince people that sake doesn't have to go with Japanese food, and when you see how well it pairs with the delicious spices of Soi 4's Thai cuisine you'll have to agree.

Reggae Sunday at the New Parish What better way to fool yourself into thinking it isn't freezing outside than some drinks and reggae at The New Parish? Eighties dancehall favorite Barrington Levy takes the stage this weekend for a chill set that's sure to warm you up.
