May is sho’ nuff off to a steamy start, but don’t let the heat sour your intentions of getting out and having a good time. Let some East Bay vibes cool you down this weekend. As always, there’s plenty to see and do.

17th Annual Hip Hop in the Park All roads lead to People’s Park as the UC Berkeley Students for Hip Hop host the 17th Annual Hip Hop in the Park. A diverse line-up with gifted MCs, such as Slum Village’s Elzhi, will bless the mic and keep your head bobbing to their flow. The showdown also features graffiti art, break dancing, and DJing.

Cinco de Mayo Party It just wouldn’t be right to cross the Bay Bridge on Sunday without paying special tribute to one of Mexico's most epic achievements. Get ready for a lively fiesta at the Ferry Building along the waterfront in Oakland. There’ll be food, drink specials, and loads of party favors. Feel free to stay for the Giants vs. Dodgers viewing party. Don’t miss the first pitch at 5 pm sharp!

Signature Sunday Brunch Concord’s own Vineyard’s Chophouse-Bar promises not to let you head back home on an empty stomach. Fill up with delicious eats that include a salad buffet, served appetizers, and a variation of quality beverages.
