Anchor Brewing Company Releases Anchor IPA™

By

In advance of San Francisco Beer Week, Anchor Brewing kicked off the festivities with an exclusive party celebrating the release of Anchor IPA™—an adventurous new brew to join the core lineup of Anchor beers.

Guests at the historic Potrero Hill brewery embarked on a journey to “see the elephant”—a 19th century metaphor for the hopeful but risky pursuit of happiness, adventure, and fortune—and collected their “passports” which allowed access to a number of interactive games and education stations, giving them the chance to learn about the history of IPA as well as the hop varieties used in Anchor IPA. Guests figuratively traveled through the three locations relative to the story of Anchor IPA; England, India, and San Francisco.

An assortment of Anchor beers were provided on tap. Guests had the choice between Anchor Steam, Anchor California Lager, Anchor IPA, Anchor Bock, Liberty Ale, Brekle’s Brown, Anchor Porter, and a special release of Our Barrel Ale. Beer infused ice cream by Three Twins Ice Cream was also offered along with a variety of small bites. Boccalone brought their “tasty salted pig parts” for a cured meat and beer pairing as well.

Additional activities included a flipbook photo booth and several interactive chalk walls that invited guests to get creative and finish the statement “To See the Elephant Is To...”

The Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) also offered an educational booth and shared information on their new partnership with Anchor Brewing.
