Belgian Style Meets SF Beer at Magnolia and 21st Amendment

By

There may be an awesome beer dinner going on this Saturday at Ana Mandara, but it's worth pointing out that there's some beyond-the-ordinary awesomness also happening at two of our city's finest breweries.

This month is the debut of Magnolia Pub and 21st Amendment's BRU/SFO project. The witty name refers not only to brewing, but to Brussels and Belgium, that amazing, small brewing country in northern Europe. The two breweries are each brewing 6 unique Belgian-inspired beers. Each released three at the start of the month and will be releasing one more each Monday until December. Details and the schedule are here. There are also some dinners happening around this and a commemorative glass to be won, if you manage to try all 12.

Dave McLean of Magnolia also told me that, sadly, that one keg of pumpkin ale I wrote about last week is already gone. The good news is, however, that a new pumpkin ale is coming out in the Belgian style this Monday, a sort of pumpkin Belgian witbier (that's a lighter, wheat beer). I look forward to getting over there for that.

Pick up your BRU/SFO boarding pass at either pub.
