1. Qi Ultralounge Opens in SOMA: After two years of renovations, this new cocktail lounge and dance club (pictured above) has opened in the former Annie's Social Club space at 5th and Folsom. The new theme is aquatic, with white sofas, sexy murals of underwater damsels, purple lighting, and even a custom ocean-breeze scent. Cocktails are themed around the four elements, with Methane (reposado tequila, peach, lime, simple syrup, black salt rim; $12) representing fire, Reservoir (cachaca, creme de cassis, vanilla syrup, mint, lemon; $12) representing water, and Granite (cognac, Cointreau, sour, Black Mission fig, ground cinnamon; $13) representing earth. (Tuesday-Wednesday, 6 pm-12 am, Thursday-Saturday, 9 pm-2 am; 917 Folsom St., SOMA.)

2. Boozy Events at SF Chefs: SF Chefs, the city's big food and wine festival, is coming up this weekend, and if you haven't gotten tickets, now's your chance. In addition to the copious amounts of beer, wine, and spirits available in the four Grand Tasting Tents, other events drinkers should consider are Friday's cocktail-centric Steamed, Fried, and Shanghai'd afterparty at E&O Asian Kitchen; Sunday's Prime Your Palate seminar on aperitifs, with Camper English, Neyah White, and Brooke Arthur; and Sunday's Portuguese wine seminar with Eugenio Jardim and Tom Pizzica. (Friday, August 3-Sunday, August 5, various locations, Union Square.)

3. Jasper's Negroni Pimp Cup Contest: Have a well-decorated chalice that you've been dying to show off? Bring it by Jasper's on Sunday afternoon for their unofficial SF Chefs afterparty, and for $20, they'll fill it with all the Negronis you can drink. In honor of the restaurant's first anniversary, the holder of the best cup will win a free daily Negroni for the next year. Those who need to go light on the Campari can also enjoy $2 bottles of Miller High Life, sliders, and orders of fries. (Sunday, August 5, 4:30-7:30 pm, at Jasper's Corner Tap & Kitchen, 401 Taylor St., Union Square.)

4. Suds & Slider Party at Solstice Lounge: For those whose tastes run less to Negronis and more to burgers and beer, consider swinging by Solstice Lounge on Thursday, where they'll gladly stuff you with all-you-can-eat portions of four kinds of sliders (Kobe beef, carnitas, fish, and chicken) while you sip three Anderson Valley beers (Boont Amber, Summer Solstice, and imperial IPA). Tickets are only $15, including food and drink. Can't make the event? Solstice is also offering a $12 slider trio or $15 slider trio and Summer Solstice beer combo every Sunday. (Thursday, August 2, 7-9 pm, at Solstice Lounge, 2801 California St., Lower Pacific Heights.)

5. The Bold Italic's Pop-Up Shop Opens: The Bold Italic folks are teaming up with Voyager on Valencia to run a two-month pop-up shop of locally made goods, from jewelry to notecards to hats. [Full disclosure: Your Drink Here Now correspondent has written for the site.] In honor of their opening day on Friday, they're throwing a party with free beer and the opportunity to mingle with the designers featured in the shop. Be sure to RSVP so they can have enough brew on hand. (Friday, August 3, 6-9 pm, at Voyager, 365 Valencia St., Mission.)
