Drink Here Now: 5 Places to Sip This Week

By

1. The Tenderloin Cocktail Crawl: No plans tonight? Consider heading over to Nirvino's crawl through four bars on the Union Square/Tenderloin border: Jasper's, Rye, The Mortimer, and Grand Cafe. Each bar will make a drink with Akvinta vodka, St. Germain, Don Julio tequila, or Pisco Porton, and drinkers will be able to sample all four for just $10 ($20 at the door), with all proceeds benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Grab your ticket here. (Wednesday, September 26, 5:30 pm, at Jasper's Corner Tap & Kitchen, 401 Taylor St., Union Square.)

2. Eddie Rickenbacker's Reopens: SOMA bar/restaurant Eddie Rickenbacker's, which was known for its sizable collection of motorcycles and Tiffany lamps, has reopened sans most of the former and all of the latter. The new design is more modern, as is the gastropub-influenced menu, with bites like a Speakeasy ale-spiked French onion soup ($9), a Southern buttermilk fried-chicken sandwich ($12), and bourbon bacon-wrapped shrimp ($12). (133 Second St., SOMA.)

3. La Mar Turns Four: La Mar Cebicheria is turning four years old this weekend, and they're offering a complimentary amuse bouche and glass of sparkling wine to any diner who drops by for lunch or dinner on Saturday. They'll also have a live band performing in the lounge from 6-8 pm. If you can't make Saturday's party, they also have a happy hour every day from 3-6 pm, with $6 cocktails like a pisco sour and passion-fruit daiquiri, $3.50 beers, and $4-6 small bites like ceviche and fried calamari. (Saturday, September 29, 11:30 am-2:30 pm & 5:30-10 pm, Pier 1.5, Embarcadero.)

4. Taverna Aventine Turns Four: Also celebrating its fourth birthday this weekend is the Financial District's Taverna Aventine, which is throwing a blowout bash with shot and beer specials, Stella Artois on draft in their alley, and a champagne bar featuring $10 glasses of Chandon brut or brut rose, $12 glasses of Moet Imperial, or $14 glasses of Veuve Clicquot. DJ Cams, DJ Kool Karlo, and DJ Billy Vidal will spin, and the Wexler's Back food truck will be on-site to quell any hunger pangs. (Friday, September 28, 4-11 pm, at Taverna Aventine, 582 Washington St., Financial District.)

5. Oktoberfest Block Party at Cafe Prague: October is almost here, which means plenty of celebrations of German beer and food on the horizon. Though they might be Czech-oriented most of the year, the folks at Cafe Prague are among the first to get into the spirit with a block party this Friday, featuring $4.50 half-liters and $8 liters of Spaten Oktoberfest, Lowenbrau, Staropramen, Pilsner Urquell, and Dunkel, as well as $4 Bavarian bites like grilled sausages with sauerkraut, schnitzel, soft pretzels, and potato salad. (Friday, September 28, 5-8 pm, at Cafe Prague, 424 Merchant Alley, Financial District.)
