#ThrowbackThursday at The Royal Exchange

#ThrowbackThursday has migrated from Facebook to the Financial District, thanks to a landmark watering hole that opened in 1972. The Royal Exchange is hosting a weekly #ThrowbackThursday party to celebrate its hedonistic heritage. Each Thursday from 3 pm to 5 pm, they’re featuring a vintage, 1970s cocktail for $2. This week’s star is the Harvey Wallbanger, made with vodka, orange juice and Galliano. Next week, they’ll be serving Grasshoppers, the ultimate mint-flavored dessert cocktail. Bell bottoms are encouraged, but not required. 301 Sacramento Street @ Front

Winter Warmers at Virgil’s Sea Room

If Winter ever arrives in San Francisco, Virgil’s Sea Room will be ready for it. They’ve added three $8 winter warmer cocktails to the menu, and in keeping with Virgil’s tradition, they’ve named them after San Francisco heroes. The Larry “Bucketman” Hunt combines Evan Williams with pimento dram, maple agave and fresh lime to pay tribute to the street musician who plays his DIY drum set outside the Old Navy store at 4th and Market. The Mike McCourt celebrates SF’s favorite curmudgeonly Irish barkeep by mixing Powers Irish Whiskey and Luxardo Amaro with fresh grapefruit, simple syrup, lime and bitters. The Carol Queen honors one of SF’s resident sexperts with an erotic concoction of Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, Sandeman Port, fresh lemon, cloves and simple syrup. 3152 Mission Street @ Cesar Chavez

Rosamunde Celebrates 4th Birthday with $1 Beers

Rosamunde in the Mission is turning four this Saturday, and they’re serving $1 Racer5 beers to celebrate. The party starts at 4 pm and continues until 8 pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy a pint or three in the beer garden-like atmosphere. If you want to branch out beyond Racer5, you’ll find another two dozen beers on tap. You’ll also find more than a dozen gourmet sausages on the menu, including three vegan options. Prices range from $6.50 for a grilled sausage with two toppings on a french roll to $13.25 for two sausages served alongside german baked beans and green salad. Note: Rosamunde does not accept credit or debit cards, so bring cash. 2832 Mission Street @ 24th

Hike Twin Peaks; Earn Beer

Some pay for their beer with money, others prefer to earn it with sweat. If you’re in the latter group, you might want to join this Saturday’s heart pumping, sightseeing hike up and over Twin Peaks. Local guide Jill Katz is leading the urban trek, which leaves at 1 pm from the corner of Parnassus and Willard Street in Cole Valley. Hikers will venture into Mt. Sutro Forest, cross Claredon Avenue and tramp up both Twin Peaks before heading down to Tank Hill Park and returning to Cole Valley. Bring cash for a victory pint at a pub afterwards, and be prepared for windy weather. There is no cost to join the hike, but RSVP is requested.

Tequila Tuesday at Copita Tequileria y Comida in Sausalito

If you’re more of a Tequila Tuesday type than a #ThrowbackThursday type, Copita Tequileria y Comida in Sausalito has just the ticket. They’re teaming up with Suerte Tequila this Tuesday to offer $7 tequila flights, special cocktails, and a $5 taco del dia. Local mixtress Summer Jane Bell will be on hand to talk about the flavors and history of Suerte, a tequila brand founded in 2012 by Boulder, Colorado-based entrepreneurs Laurence Spiewalk and Lance Sokol. Suerte’s trio of small-batch, single estate, double distilled tequilas are now available throughout California. Copita’s will feature a different tequila and taco del dia every Tuesday. 739 Bridgeway in Sausalito
