Eating and Drinking By the Numbers: The Week In Lists

By

We're generally awash in lists of our own at 7x7, as you can see at right, but we'd like to take this opportunity to round up some of the more notable food and drink lists to pop up recently elsewhere, like Thrillist's six best sandwiches in town, and a roundup of new bars. Because everyone loves a list.

First up, check out these Six Best Sandwiches in S.F., courtesy of Thrillist. While they were right to make sure to get Arguello Market and Wise Sons on there, no best sandwiches list would be complete without Mario's Bohemian Cigar Store in North Beach, and, of course, Rhea's, so no list is perfect.

Eater just did their monthly update of their Heatmap, which includes new additions The Vestry, 1760, Bergerac, and Fog City. Also of note, because we didn't even realize it, Palmer's Tavern, the new incarnation of Long Bar from the guys behind Leopold's, has now been open a month up on Fillmore.

SFist just rolled a list of The Best Sports Bars in town, which covers the genre's greatest hits. But leave it to the commenters to lay out all the various city-specific fanbases and where they gather around town. For instance, Pittsburgh fans should make their way to Giordano Bros., and Chicago Bears fans flock to Monaghan's in the Marina.

Over at Zagat you'll find a roundup of Hot New Bars, as well as a list of all the Bay Area restaurants that are diner-themed, like Citizen's Band and St. Francis Fountain.

And last but not least, BuzzFeed brings us this roundup of funny restaurant signage, like those found above restroom urinals and such.
