Harry Denton's Sunday's a Drag Brunch gets into the holiday spirit with its weekend performances of "Miracle on Powell Street" starting today. Hosted by Donna Sachet, the acclaimed variety show (with a drag twist) adds carols (though don't expect mundane fa-la-la-ing here), holiday costumes, and snow. Go and you'll also be privvy to an insane omelette bar, carving station, pastry table, booze, and loads more to curb your hangover. 12 and 2:30 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 23, reservations (415) 395-8595, Harry Denton's Starlight Room, 450 Powell St.
Eat at five restaurants in the Mission by joining a three-hour walking tour of the foodiest neighborhood of them all. Sample bites may include a cheese flight, empanadas, ham and oysters, and artisan tacos. Oh, and you may just be skipping that long line for artisanal ice cream we all scream for (salted caramel goodness, yum!). Come hungry. $64 (add on alcohol for $16), buy tickets here. 11 a.m. Sun 11/24, 6 p.m. Tues 11/27.
Bored of the same lunch routine? Do something different by indulging in a cozy tasting at Bluxome Street Winery. The small event focuses on local artisan food and wine grown within a 100-mile radius of San Francisco. Limited to six people, the host will discuss where your lunch came from and provide a map showing the source locations of the food and wine. Yes, there's a flight of three Sonoma wines included. $44, buy tickets here. 12:30 p.m. Sun 11/25, Tues 11/27, Thurs 11/29, Fri 11/30, 53 Bluxome St.
Friday, November 30
Join the Half Moon Brewing Company for the launch of its new hoppy and delectable new winter called Mavericks Old Man Winter Ale. For all the amateur brewers out there, take note of the ale’s ingredients such as Chinook hops, rye malt, and caramel and dark fruits flavorings. However make sure to leave room for food from the special Old Man Winter menu curated by Executive Chef Gaston Alfaro. 6 - 7:30 p.m., free.
