Fog City is reopening and Friday they’re serving up lunch. Located at 1300 Battery, near the Embarcadero, this is a great opportunity to take a lunch break by the bay. From 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. they’ll be plating roasted heritage turkey sandwiches, grilled swordfish, oysters, and shrimp salad, just to name a few. Fog City will also be open for brunch on weekends from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Saturday, October 19 & Sunday, October, 20

Take a drive down to Half Moon Bay’s historic Main Street for the 42nd Annual Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., enjoy pumpkin inspired food from several local vendors, an art and craft bazar, a battle of the bands, and Half Moon Bay Brewing Company’s Pumpkin Harvest Ale. And in the spirit of the spooky season, take a stroll through a haunted barn and get panicked by the undead. The Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival is chock full of so much fun stuff, you’ll just have to check it out yourself.

So it’s Thursday and you’re already imagining yourself basking in Indian Summer sun at Dolores Park this weekend, right? While you are there, check out the Hella Vegan Eats food trailer. It’s their grand opening and they’re serving up a hella hearty meat and dairy-free brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday.

Monday, October 21

Can’t get enough pop-ups? Have a bite at Commoner’s first pop-up this Monday at Shotwell's Bar on 20th Street for a unique take on a variety of vegan-friendly cuisines including Middle Eastern, Asian, and Italian. These good eats are not only made from scratch by SF native and chef Kristopher Ramirez, but are also created with locally sourced ingredients. Although the menu depends on farmer’s market finds you can most likely expect chicken or eggplant shawarma, pistachio tahini hummus, and olive oil cake with lime glaze, among other delicious dishes. And like the cultures these eclectic dishes aspire from, the meals at this pop-up are meant to be shared so bring the crew.

It’s that time again – to head out to Nick’s Pizza in North Oakland for FREE PIZZA DAY! The folks at Nick’s Pizza will be busting out free pizza, pastries, and salads this Monday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Although this is a free event, these pizzas are top notch, made from organic dough and locally sourced organic ingredients.
