MICHAEL MINA BRINGS BACK THE TRIOS MENU

Sure, you've heard Michael Mina's name touted everywhere from San Francisco to Santa Clara, but if you still haven't stopped into his flagship restaurant on California Street, then you are missing out on a divine dining experience. Here's the perfect opportunity: the chef just brought back the Trios Menu, a delicious prix fixe menu that allows you to try one signature, seasonal ingredient cooked three very different ways at once. While the menu can be a little overwhelming (you'll definitely want to eat it ALL), here's what we recommend: heirloom tomatoes to start, baby pig as the entree, and the dessert trio to round out the perfect meal. Plus wine pairings, duh. // 252 California St, San Francisco, michaelmina.net

VENEZUELAN CUISINE COMES TO THE MISSION

Ever been to a Venezuelan restaurant? Well, here's your chance! Coco Frio, the fourth restaurant in the Mission district from Chef Manny Torres Gimenez, is completely dedicated to his native Venezuelan cuisine. The affordable, three-course prix fixe menu ($29.99) and small bite options ($5-$10 each) are centered around fresh seafood, highly seasonal produce, and traditional Venezuelan flavors. Opt for the handmade arepas or “Venezuelan Tacos” with fried pork, seafood, chicken, or beef and avocado, melted cheese and secret sauce. Trust us, you'll need them to get through the all-day happy hour featuring Coco Frio ($15) a drink for two with rum, coconut rum, coconut water and lime served in a freshly opened coconut shell, and the Hipster Colada ($10) with Cacique rum, crème de cacao, coconut crème, house-made pineapple juice and mango puree. // 2937 Mission Street, San Francisco, cocofriosf.com
