Your guide to the tastiest foodie happenings going down this week. Bon Appetit!

Cala Opens a Taco Shop

Opening her first every U.S. restaurant in Hayes Valley just wasn't enough for Mexico City chef Gabriela Cámara. On Tuesday, she also raised the curtain on her much-anticipated back-alley taqueria, Tacos Cala. The taqueria is serving weekday lunch focused on tacos de guisado—stews ladled into soft corn tortillas. Choose from three filling options (meat, vegetarian, and vegan) paired with seasonal aqua frescas or an iced horchata coffee. Yum! Beer and wine will also be available, if you work in one of those offices where drinking on the job is encouraged. // the back alley on Hickory St., San Francisco, calarestaurant.com

Belgian Beer School with 21st Amendment

It's never to late to go back to school, well, beer school anyway. On Tuesday, November 17th, 21st Amendment Brewery is hosting their annual Belgian Beer School to bring a taste of Belgium to San Francisco. For the first time in many years, the event will be hosted by 21A co-founders Shaun O’Sullivan and Nico Freccia as well as brewmaster Zambo and Kim Sturdavant of Social Kitchen & Brewery. The menu will consist of traditional Belgian food from the kitchen accompanied by an array of Belgian-style ales, ranging from traditional to experimental variations. // $55, class starts at 7pm; 563 2nd Street, San Francisco.
