Foodie Agenda: CREAM in Oakland & Pliny the Elder Dessert

By

We're all about ice cream this week. And the weather is cooperating.

Cowgirl Creamery Debuts Breakfast

You can now have Cowgirl Creamery for breakfast, amen. In celebration of the return of the Point Reyes Farmers Market, Cowgirl Creamery's Cantina is debuting a new breakfast menu, which will be served every Saturday for the duration of the market. The new offering starts on Saturday, June 27 from 9-11:30am and includes such delicious delicacies as a Baked Egg Sandwich with Sautéed Mushrooms, Gruyere, and Herbs, and a Ham & Tam Sandwich made using their famously decadent Mt. Tam cheese. // 80 4th Street, Point Reyes Station

PLINY THE HALF PINT

Beginning June 17, beer and gourmet desserts will happily come together (for a limited time only). Sift Dessert Bar and Russian River Brewing Co, makers of one of the world’s most sought-after beers, have partnered to create Pliny the Half Pint, a decadent frothy dessert. Pliny the Half Pint is five layers of alternating Pliny the Elder soaked brown sugar cake and Pliny mousse and a spiced orange glaze. The beer soaked treat will be exclusively available in Sift Dessert Bar’s San Francisco and Santa Rosa locations from Wednesday June 17 until Sunday June 21 for $6. // 2411 California St, San Francisco

CREAM Comes to Oakland

Insanely popular ice cream sandwich store CREAM is now open in Rockridge. That's right, folks, you can now have your favorite ice cream sandwiched between two fresh cookies, without having to trek all the way to Berkeley. The new location arrives in the midst of a huge expansion for the chain, which boasts 14 stores in Northern California (with one in San Francisco), 5 in Southern California and one in Nevada, with more opening soon.
