Foodie Agenda: Easter Brunch, Chocolate Eggs (and more)

Rabid Flour + Water and charcuterie fans alike, rejoice: The restaurant is unveiling bites from their hotly anticipated new eatery, Salumeria, at Shotwell's Bar tonight from 6 -9 pm. Plan on dinner being a cheese and cracker plate ($10), a Ballottine sandwich with pepperoncini and green garlic aioli ($10), ricotta stuffed cherry peppers with boquerones ($5), and Almanac beer's Farmhouse Pale Ale ($5) to wash it all down.

Friday, April 6th
Downtown creperie Galette 88 is staging a special pop-up dinner at the hands of Chef Lauren Kiino of Il Cane Rosso. It's set to be four courses, starting with an amuse bouche of goat cheese & black pepper gougere, onto a salt cod & soft egg fritter as an appetizer, spring lamb or wild nettle and mushroom crepes for the entree, and almond pavlova for dessert. It's $40 per person, plus an extra 425 for wine pairings. Seatings are at 6 and 8 pm, so if you want in, RSVP at info@canerossosf.com.

Chocolate and Easter are a match made in heaven, a fact that's not lost on local chocolate wizard Michael Recchiuti. He's opening a pop-up in the Dogpatch called Little Nib starting on April 5th for all your holiday shopping needs, but on Saturday from 1-4 pm, Recchiuti’s famed Terrazo Easter Eggs will be on display and Michael himself will demo hand-coating almonds in semisweet chocolate with a finishing touch of fleur de sel on Saturday.

Sunday, April 8th
Ah, Easter food. It's like Springtime in your mouth. Bring the whole family to 750 Restaurant and Bar in the Financial District's Hilton. There will be a Kid's Station with a petting zoo, face painting, Easter Bunny, and magician. You can enjoy free-flowing champagne, a sweet & savory brunch buffet, and live jazz by the Bay Area's top musicians. And what to eat? There will be citrus glazed baked ham, omelets made-to-order, oysters on the half shell and crab claws, dim sum, and roast steamship of beef au jus. The live music begins at 12pm and goes til 3 pm. Cost: $59 for adults, $49 for seniors, and $29 for kids (5-12). Price includes 2 hours free valet parking.

Monday, April 9th
Also from the Flour + Water folks is the impending Central Kitchen, which is hosting an eight-course preview dinner prepared chef/partner Thomas McNaughton and chef de cuisine Michael Gaines. Each night, the duo will cook table-side for up to 12 guests in Flour + Water's Dough Room, and talk about the concept, food and inspiration behind the new restaurant. Purchse tickets here.
