New Pop-Up Lunch Offering Filipino Food

At night, Azucar Lounge serves up Mexican-inspired street food and cocktails, but co-owner Edgar Tamayo is switching things up during the day with his newly launched “Paulina’s Kitchen + Bar,” a pop-up style lunch restaurant serving traditional Filipino food. Customers can choose from adobo, chicharone (simmered, then deep fried pork belly), sisig (deep fried pork belly and ears), or vegan caldereta (soyrizo and vegetables) to fill or top their entrees.

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 11:30am to 2:30pm, 299 9th Street.

The Kinky Friedman Burger from Wes Rowe

This week's Wes Burger pop-up—which happens every Wednesday at Mojo Bicycle café and features a different all-brisket burger from the award-winning burger maestro—takes its cues from the traditional Jewish deli. The Kinky Friedman burger starts with a signature Wes burger brisket patty and then gets topped with barbecued pastrami, sauerkraut, smoked Swiss cheese, and Thousand Island dressing. Made to order with ingredients crafted by Wes, the burger is served on a Pinkies Challah Bun.

Wednesday, September 17: 6pm-11pm, 639 Divisadero Street

Pot Pie Day at Big 4

Big 4 will celebrate the official first day of fall and national Pot Pie Day with the return of their classic pot pie. It features rich, sherry-infused chicken broth, roasted chicken, pearl onions, carrots, potatoes, and tarragon, all topped with buttery puff pastry. No worries if you don't want a full one for an entree; each guest will receive acomplimentary mini pot pie during dinner.
