NEW BRUNCH OPTION: MYRIAD 

Looking for somewhere new to stand in line this weekend? Myriad, the first solo venture from owner and Chef Trish Tracey (Momo’s, ThirstyBear Brewing Co., and Helios Global Brasserie) is opening early Saturday and Sunday with a globally-inspired menu to feed the brunching hordes. Highlights include five-spice challah French toast with bacon bourbon maple syrup ($13), pecan mascarpone and goat cheese served with chive biscuits ($7), potato hash with fried egg ($15) and a Taylor ham, egg and cheddar cheese sandwich with home fries that will have you drooling on the table ($13). WINE DINNERS GALORE 

First up, Locanda is hosting a Sicilian summer wine dinner on August 4. The evening's Sicilian-centric menu will feature traditional seasonal dishes such as gypsy pepper-tuna conserva, housemade busiate pasta with Trapani style pest, and Sicilian style rabbit. Then, McEvoy Ranch’s August 7 winemakers dinner celebrates the Petaluma Gap Winemakers Alliance’s first-ever “Wind to Wine Festival,” and will feature wines crafted by McEvoy Ranch, Fogline Vineyards, and De Loach Vineyards. Enjoy tastings from each of the wineries in the courtyard before sitting down to a seasonally-inspired meal inside the ranch’s stunning Chinese Pavilion. // 5935 Red Hill Road, Petaluma, mcevoyranch.com

EVEN MORE WINE + FOOD 

On August 3, Nob Hill Club will host “A Night with Stags’ Leap,” a 4-course dinner featuring dishes by Executive Chef Nenad Stefanovic, carefully paired with wines from Napa Valley’s Stags’ Leap Wine Cellar. The night begins at 6:30pm with a White Peach Gazpacho and heirloom melon salad paired with a 2012 Napa Valley Chardonnay. Following the first dish is a Mahi Mahi Plate with charred apricot chutney, a Valrhona Cocoa Dusted Strip Streak with Fennel, and a Goat Cheese Summer Berry Tart with a 2010 Napa Valley Petite Sirah. NATIONAL OYSTER DAY AT BAR CRUDO

FOOTBALL SEASON IS ALMOST HERE 

Michael Mina is celebrating the first anniversary of Bourbon Steak at Levi's Stadium on August 11 with a "Backyard BBQ" from 6-9p.m. The extravaganza features all inclusive food and drink including sumptuous ribs, sausage, chicken, pulled pork, and brisket on the BBQ with drink pairings including beer, wine, and select cocktails. SCOTLAND YARD OPEN FOR BUSINESS 

Named after the storied headquarters of London’s Metropolitan Police force, the new Marina restaurant and bar opened on July 26.
