Foodie Agenda: SF Beer Week, Valentine's Day Menus, & More

It's a big week ahead for Bay Area foodies.

Go Big During San Francisco Beer Week

East Bay classics Homestead and Trappist are teaming up to host their own SF Beer Week event on February 8. Pours of over a dozen hand crafted local brews will be available for connoisseurs and newbies alike. Booze won't be the only thing on the menu though. Look out for an assortment of farm to table treats like Fried Duck Wings with House Hot Sauce, Bone Marrow with Toast, and a Lobster Roll on a Beer Bun. Homestead: $3 - $18, 4:30- 9:00pm, 4029 Piedmont Ave., Oakland.

For those of you in the city, Schroeder’s will kick off the week with a battle of the beers on February 7. The German gastropub is going to pit San Francisco beers up against their German counterparts. The pairings are certain to knock your socks off and have you and your friends battling over which country does it best. Schroeder’s: 2 for $10 and 4 for $20, 5-9:30  p.m., 240 Front Street, San Francisco.

Romantic Valentine's Day Dinners

If you're looking for a romantic Wine Country dinner, Spoonbar will be open all weekend with their amorous fare. The 5-course prix fixe menu includes kanpachi sashimi with chamomile gelee, radishes, cilantro and citrus as well as wild mushrooms steamed in Thai aromatics with coconut milk, a poached egg, and crispy rice. Make sure to try one of their farm to table cocktails like the "Sleeping Beauty" made from Hanger One Blueberry Vodka, Raspberry Eau de Vie, lemon, grapefruit, bergamot, and rosemary. Spoonbar: $78 per person, 5-9:30pm, 219 Healdsburg Avenue, Healdsburg
