FIVE Restaurant Offers Spooky Halloween Menu 

This All Hallow's Eve weekend, downtown Berkeley-based restaurant FIVE will offer a special three-course Halloween menu for $34 per person. Magical menu offerings include: head cheese with toasted baguette; sweetbread, butternut squash, and wild rice-stuffed quail with spinach and sautéed mushrooms; and something called the “Magic Potion”—a cold pumpkin soup with white chocolate, ricotta mousse, and candied pecans. Compliment your spooky supper with a Zapotec Sour, a concoction of mezcal, egg white, lime juice, falernum, chocolate bitters, and roasted garlic IPA simple syrup, sure to ward off any vampires for the evening. The guest sporting the best costume will receive dinner for two at the restaurant. 2086 Allston Way #5, Berkeley

Hog & Rocks Hosts a Halloween Party 

Hog & Rocks has planned a night of treats with themed specials for both the bar and the kitchen on October 31. (Think all kinds of ghastly goodness, such as Chef Song's house made blood sausage. Delish!) Macallan Launches New Rare Cask

Treats, No Tricks Dinner at Canela

Celebrate Halloween with a candy-inspired menu at Canela. For $55 per person you'll feast on caramelized corn soup with jamon broth; popcorn "croutons"; maple glazed "candied" salmon; chocolate-spiked oxtail with potato croquetes; and a dessert trio of peanut butter custard with chocolate peanut toffee, pumpkin flavored arroz con leche, and mini caramel apple. Dirty Habit's First Annual Halloween Bash 

On Friday, October 31, Dirty Habitwill throw its first annual Halloween Bash. Kicking off at 7 pm, enjoy delicious food from Chef David Bazirgan (including a suckling pig steamed bun station, prime rib carving station, pasta station, and a shellfish and oyster station), house-made Halloween candy, and all-you-can-drink punches, specialty cocktails, beer, and wine. Prizes for the Best Overall Costume, Best Couple, and Scariest Costume will be awarded at the end of the night. Big 4 and Anchor Brewing Company Launch Quarterly Beer Release Series 

Two local icons will pair up for a quarterly beer release series, beginning with the launch of Anchor’s Christmas Ale. On November 3, Big 4 will host an exclusive four-course release dinner that will unveil Anchor’s signature holiday brew, in addition to other favorites, paired with four delectable courses created by Executive Chef Kevin Scott. Set in the restaurant’s Central Pacific Room showcasing original artifacts, historical photographs, and memorabilia from California’s unique history, guests will be treated to a fun presentation led by Big 4’s resident historian, Ron Henggeler, and Anchor Brewing Company’s historian Dave Burkhardt. Tickets are $125 per person, get them here1075 California, San Francisco
